Lesson with Luke was founded in 2018 by Luke Smith, a professional actor and musician in NYC. Luke's work has been seen on Broadway, Off-Broadway, National tours, television and film. Alongside his performance career, Luke has been teaching music to children of all ages for over 12 years. With fond memories of the teachers who influenced his own love for music, Luke became impassioned by the opportunity to motivate students of his own.

Through this impulse, Lesson with Luke was born.

Today, Lesson with Luke has grown into a team of exceptional teaching artists, with a shared mission to pass along the lessons learned through professional experience to future generations.  Each Lesson with Luke teacher comes with an extensive background in both teaching and performance, and is dedicated to knowing and understanding their students on a personal level – further ensuring their musical growth (and passion) over time.
